Privacy
Last updated 16 October 2026. DisplaySplit is made by Justin Comstock, who is responsible for the information described here.
The app
DisplaySplit runs on your PC. It has no account system, no analytics and no usage tracking, and it does not send information about you, your display or your windows anywhere.
The app contacts our server in four situations only: when you activate a licence key, when you remove a licence from a PC, once after the refund period to confirm the licence is still valid, and when you press Check for updates, which sends nothing about you. Each time it sends the licence key and an anonymous ID for the PC, which is a one-way code that cannot be turned back into anything about your PC. We keep a record of which of those IDs hold a place on a key, with the buyer's name and email address, so a key can't be used on more PCs than it covers and the app can show who it is licensed to. The key itself is not stored, only a one-way code made from it. After that, your licence is checked on your own PC.
The app keeps its settings and an activity log in your Windows user profile; both stay on your PC and are removed if you delete that folder.
Downloading
Downloading DisplaySplit asks for nothing: no email address and no account.
For a short time before launch the download asked for an email address. If you gave one then, we still hold it, with when you signed up, the notice you were shown, and the country your request came from, and we may send occasional emails about DisplaySplit.
Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect at once. We do not sell or share your address. No such emails have been sent so far.
Buying a licence
Payments are handled by our payment provider, Dodo Payments, which acts as the seller of record. They collect your name, email address, billing country and payment details in order to take payment, handle tax and send your receipt. They create your licence key and email it to you with your receipt. We receive your name and email address so the app can show who a licence belongs to and so we can help you if you contact us.
This website
The site uses no cookies, no analytics and no advertising tags. Our host, Cloudflare, keeps ordinary server logs. The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's servers when you open a page.
